Greg Orton received his first offer last October from the Iowa Hawkeyes and knew big things were on the horizon. Now, he has landed offers from all around the country, and gives TheInsiders.com's Josh Clark an update on his top schools and summer visits plans.

Greg Orton competed last week in the Ohio state track meet in trying to help guide his team's 4x400 to a first place finish. His relay team came away with a fourth place finish, but Orton knew that track was only a side mirror to what he was hoping to accomplish on the gridiron.

Orton has ranked as one of Ohio's top prospects since last October when he received his first scholarship offer from the Purdue earlier this spring and many programs since.

"I'm now up to 16 offers," said Orton. "I'd say some of my top schools right now are Louisville. I'm not attending any camps, but I do have hopes of completing a few visits."

Orton had already previously made visits to both Purdue and Virginia earlier this spring.

"Both of the visits went very good, and I was impressed with both coaching staffs. They were both pretty basic visits, though, and that is why I'm hoping to make it out to both again this summer to get more in-depth."

So what are some of his other potential visits?

"I know I'd like to make out to Pittsburgh, Iowa, Louisville, and I may make it to a few others. I'm pretty wide open right now, and am willing to listen to any school."

It likely has come to a surprise to many readers by this point that neither Michigan have been mentioned by Orton. Those happen to be two schools that Orton may have already heard enough from.

"I like both programs, but Ohio State just has not shown as much interest as the others to this point. I've gotten a few hand-written letters and such, but not much else. Michigan has shown a lot of interest, but I haven't been offered yet. I'm just showing loyalty to the schools that have been with me since the beginning."

The Iowa Hawkeyes are one of the schools, and also one Orton plans to visit. What are his current thoughts on the Hawkeyes?

"I'm very interested in them as they were the first to offer me a scholarship. I have heard a lot about them, and know it is a good program, but I need to make a visit out there. Right now, I just know them on the outside, but have yet to really learn about them on the inside."
